Manu Parekh (b. 1939, Ahmedabad) is a Delhi-based contemporary artist known for his decades-long engagement with Varanasi, a city he first visited following his father's death and has returned to repeatedly since. His work moves between figuration and colorful abstraction, marked by intuitive color, bold brushstrokes, and emphatic line, responding to nature, ritual, and everyday life.

His early exposure to theatre, designing sets and acting in college drama competitions, continues to inform the expressive, gestural quality of his portraits, reflected in his own remark that when he paints heads, he paints expressions. Women in his work often appear as nature spirits and plant forms, drawing on mythological traditions, while a long engagement with craft and folk art, developed through years of travel and work with weavers and artisans across India, runs throughout his practice.
