Jai Khanna is a New Delhi-based artist working within the tradition of Pichwai, painting on silk and paper with natural mineral pigments and gold in the layered, meticulous technique the form demands. His obsession with Srinathji, the mountain-bearing form of Krishna, began in childhood, and continues to drive a practice devoted to rendering the deity across its many darshanas and shringaras.

His work contemporises this four-hundred-year-old form, drawing on its established iconography while infusing it with personal subjectivity, dream imagery, and imagination. Rather than departing from Pichwai's inherited grammar, he works within its conventions, introducing new compositions and visual elements while remaining rooted in the devotional intensity and craft discipline that define the tradition.
