Himmat Gayri (b. 1996) is a mixed media artist from Udaipur, Rajasthan, whose work draws on the folk traditions, mythology, and visual culture of Mewar. Growing up around the temples and devras of his village, he spent his childhood observing frescoes depicting mythological narratives, alongside the Rajasthani folklore told by his grandparents, both of which became the foundation of his artistic language.

Influenced by miniature painting, Molela terracotta, Pichwai, Gavari folk dance, and temple art, Gayri builds his compositions around memory, ritual, and village life, often referencing epics, folklore, and practices such as yantra-mantra-tantra. Drawing remains his primary medium; he works mainly on paper, combining pencil rendering with etching to create layered, textured surfaces.

He began by painting frescoes for marriages, festivals, and temple spaces in Udaipur using pen and ink, and continues to draw from village temples, sacred narratives, and oral tradition, revisiting the stories and symbols that shaped his early life.
